Thank you Chris, I don't mind helping out when it's simple and quick, but there are so many parameters on these gadgets that it would take an eternity to write it all down and explain what they all do.
My experience has been gained by switching them on, plugging in and going through what they do, making notes on what I feel is important. Once you get the timing in your head for the track you want to play, it's a matter of finding the final 'kick' in the echo and listening carefully to the additional 'kicks' before, but at a lower level - or sometimes a higher level, listen to the records.
Very often you will realise that there isn't as much echo present as you imagined. That is the only way to learn and for it to sink in.
Once you understand what's going on, you can apply it to lots of different devices as it becomes clearer.
