Hi all,

Can I ask you to tell me the voltage rating on the back of your amps
please?

I'm wondering how many if any 240v rated amps there are out there.

Hi,

Crazy isn't it!

They make 240v amps ----- For Australia!

Mains voltage here at my place is always around 245V!

Makes you think!

In the rest of Europe the rated voltage is 230Volt +/-10 %. That means that electric equipment should be suitable for 253Volt. I think that's no problem for 245V in the UK. Only the valves have a little shorter using period.

Model specs in the Handbook state 230v for GE and UK and 240v for AU and 100v for JP and 120v for US and EX with fuses rated at 250volts for both the AC15 and AC30....

Checked a few other things around the house and found 230v was quite common too

Here is what the owner's manual says about the AC15H models :

– 100JP = 100V 50/60Hz – Fuse T2AL 250V
– 120US = 120V 50/60Hz – Fuse T2AL 250V
– 120EX = 120V 50/60Hz – Fuse T2AL 250V
– 230GE = 230V 50/60Hz – Fuse T1AL 250V
– 230UK = 230V 50/60Hz – Fuse T1AL 250V
– 240AU = 240V 50/60Hz – Fuse T1AL 250V

It's the same for AC30H apart for fuse values.

I guess that the only difference between the "European" model (230GE) and the UK one is the mains plug.

I can tell you from experience that getting a shock from Australia's 240 volt supply is no fun!

Doing gigs years ago in old places with lousy wiring was a regular risk- I once got a belt in the mouth off my microphone whilst singing and playing my guitar- the shock knocked me back over the drummer's kit behind me- not recommended- luckily it's better now!
