I think it was a Burns Double Six, but I seem to recall that someone said it was two double-tracked six-string guitar parts.

It's double-tracked six-string guitars. Just after the solo you can hear the two notes not coinciding! Whether the guitars were Burns Marvin prototypes or Fender Strats...I don't know!
