Well played Keith... Good to know the old girl's in good hands...

Here she is again...

BTW They most definitely are not Strat pickups. The pole pieces are flat... but great to hear it played with such gusto in the original clip.

Thanks David. I'm certainly enjoying ownership of this historic instrument. Here she is with some of her new-found friends.

I... er... don't think so...

That sounds like the BT prepared by Phil and Andrew McGarrick, but with the key changes I made at various points with the aid of Adobe Audition... ;)

PS:

Keith,

Any chance of a HQ* (readable) scan of the reverse (don't need the front) of that "Spotlight On The Shadows" EP sleeve?

Pretty please?

Sincere apologies Jim, Ray, Phil and Andrew for the mis-credit of the BT. I've corrected the original post.

Jim, the hi-res file is too big to upload here so I've sent it to your email address.

That's great, Keith!

I've uploaded a cleaned-up version (plus a shot of the front) to the Gallery.

Best wishes,

Thanks Roger. It's a shame I had to reduce the bit rate so much to upload the files. Does anyone have any advice on how to upload better quality clips please?

Hi Kieth,
Super sound on all the tracks and very well played. Can I ask if you have fitted any stabilizer shims to the bridge? on the Bass VI or is it still as per original, ie a bit loose. Whichever, it sounds nice and crisp and stable in the intonation department. Again Kieth a great sound.
Regards Geoff Alderton.

Hi Geoff,

I have made no modifications to the bridge since I bought it from David and, as far as I know, it is original. The only thing I did have done was to replace the brass nut, which a previous owner had installed, with a bone one as per original spec.

In fact, it looks just like the one Jet used on his recordings and the date of May 1962 has led me to ponder whether it could actually be Jet's guitar. However the shop that imported it no longer have document records from that time and Jet has no way of telling if it was his. So I'm just happy to think that it MIGHT be the one!!

Thanks for your comments.
