Yes that's right Justin, Old Derek had mentioned he fancied coming to the Hankies so I said that if we could arrange it I'd bring Jonesy down too, then we mentioned it to Daniel and he's in as well , we need to make a date - fancy the trip?

He reckons Tim ought to meet Ecca - I'm not sure that's wise!

Justin, we can handle anything, it's the guests who usually run screaming!

Alan has just posted new rules for visitors:

Be there on time. Latecomers will be thrashed with an "Eccastick"

Tune your guitar silently. Do not tune up whilst someone else is playing. ( Remember the Eccastick ).

Newcomers and first time visitors must stand at the double doors with one trouser leg rolled up to the knee.
( We'll know if you were invited or not by which trouser leg is rolled up ).

You'll be presented with a small book and a pencil. This is not a gift. Write down the tunes you wish to play
and the BT's will be sorted ready for you to play. ( This method is what we call organisation and means some bugger actually
gets to play something during the evening ).
If you can't manage the pencil please ask for the crayon.

You may look at, but not touch, Ecca's knees.

When you are playing, for Christ's sake stand still. The repair bills for bosted kit are getting bigger. Better still sit down.

Due to a bit of negotiation in the early days, The Hankies is one of the few clubs that costs you nothing to come and play.
Feel free to offer the committee an occasional bribe / cheese cob / pint of Coors / Grolsch / Coke.

Well Amp now duely modded and the first tone position sounds much better and more useable

Once Amanda had finished fiddling with me bits (my amp ...........) we managed a comparison between the '62 AC15 and the AC30 Heritage and despite me ballsing up Kon-Tiki , in the same place - twice (what are the chances of that ....it was more like Les Dawson plays the shadows) we all agreed the ESE sounded fantastic - and the AC30 somehow smoother than the AC15 which did distort slightly

Only downside was me deciding to go home via the M6 so I could put my foot down - only to find it closed ............ DOH !!!

happy days !

oh - and the wounds from the spikey sticks have just about healed

Hi Mark,

You got caught out by the M6 car park trick as well then!

Why they didn't put a sign at the entrance to the slip roads saying
M6 closed at M5 Junction I don't know!

Finally arrived home at 11-15pm.

Tim is not bigger than 5ft 8 Ecca!

Distortion on the AC15, what do you expect you were trying to get 100+dB out of it!

At least we know one thing Mr Bakewell is not the loudest - A mere 108dB!

I've owned an AC15 Heritage for a couple of years now and like it a great deal, In my humble opinion it has a good vintage Vox sound. I find that I have to be very careful with the volume control as it is rather easy to overdrive it. It's a amp for small rooms if you're not putting the backline through the PA.
