Amps used on the last Cliff & Shadows tour

Postby hansaustria » Sun Jan 23, 2011 10:51 pm

Is it possible that the Shadows used on their 50th Anniversary European
Tour 2009 with Cliff - JMI AC 30 / 4 amps and not AC 30 / 6 TB as we are
told.
Or did they use both models?
Can anyone confirm my supposition which is not taken from the air?

This link was the reason why I posted this in the forum. I`ve seen the pics on ebay.
And after a very exact control and observation of the pics I had the feeling in me
that something was strange to me because I own one 50 Anniversary amp ( without
the autographs ).
When I more exactly looked I discovered a green controlling lamp and the four inputs
with the JMI logo between. Hot stuff !!!!!

Hi Hans,

I also have a '50th. Anniversary Amp.' and from what you say it looks like we have been 'shafted' by Musicground.

Best regards,
Baz.

I see that this is listed as 'New Other'! Does that mean brand new except for a world tour!!!!

Hans is right - the amp pictured in Alan's link shows an AC30/4.

I believe that MG has produced more than 10 amps for the worldtour.
Maybe that HBM tested and signed different models definitely more
than the 10 as we were told. Nothing that confirms that the amps were
ever used on stage or as substitutes for the amps they really used.

Why would you not expect to be shafted by Music Ground. They have been shafting people for years!!

Hi Guys,
Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember a shot on the dvd which showed the back of one of the amps and the "add on "top boost controls were in evidence. I haven't the time at the moment to check,- maybe those interested could do so.

Hi Stuart ..... why I would not expect ..... because of the fair
deal I made with MG. The price I paid for it incl. shipping was more
than OK. Sure I had to wait nearly 4 weeks for the delivery. And
the JMI quality ( handmade in UK ) is indisputable high. The sound
is amazing especially with my Tele ( Joe Strummer ), my Strat ( 57 Rei )
my ESP EC 1000 ( Paula ) and my ESP Custom shop strattype Guitar !
I think I bought the amp at the right time. Today he price for it on
the ebay store is much higher.
And I have calculated on the fact that I get no hand-signed
by the Shads piece.
That`s the truth.
