Hi Peter, I fitted the Callaham vintage block in my Custom Shop 1956 NOS Stratocaster some five or six years ago. Along with the Callaham stainless steel tremolo arm it is, ( IMHO ), a worthwhile investment.

It's worth knowing that the original tremolo block was solid steel so soundwise there was, ( again only my opinion ), a slight improvement in sustain etc.

The real and dramatic improvement was, no more wobbly tremolo arm. It stays exactly where you put it without being stiff.

I can't comment on anything else as that's all I did to that guitar.

Kipper,

I have three Strats with Callaham complete bridge units installed, very glad I did IMHO it is a worthwhile expense. As for the Callaham tuners, I use Gotoh locking 'Klusons' as a standard replacement, and they are excellent, so I have never really considered using Bill Callaham's tuners for that reason. ;)
