The GUV'NOR

Postby drakula63 » Sun Apr 20, 2014 11:12 pm

Ever had one of those days? One of those days that you know you'll never forget for the rest of your life?

I've had a few. But a year or so ago I had one of the greatest privileges of my life. I hope you won't mind me posting these pics.

Happy Easter.

Cheers Phil - I was hoping you'd get to see these!

Brian was saying that Jeff Lynn had been using a similar Gretsch kit in a TV documentary he'd seen a short while earlier... but HIS was better!!! Obviously this was said in a light-hearted way, as he knows Jeff quite well.

To be standing next to Brian as he played a short solo was something I shall not be forgetting in a hurry!!! What a day. And what a nice guy.

Happy Easter.
Chris

P.S. No, I DIDN'T break his hi-hat clutch i anyone was wondering... :D

Was this Brian's studio?
I like the look of that Gretsch kit

Yes - Brian's new studio. He had only just moved in to it when we visited and it wasn't quite up and running at that point.

The kit SOUNDED brilliant too!!!

Thanks Phil. No I hadn't seen those pics - only the similar but much older pic in the recent issue of a drum magazine. Nice to see the man and the bass that we heard on Honourable Puff-Puff all those years ago...

...Yes. And I'm sure he won't mind me mentioning that it's still called 'Honeyhill Studios' and has the original sign hanging outside!

The location has changed, but the vibe and the talent is still there!

Rock on Brian!!!
