Hi again Phil ,

I went see the film of the reunion concert last night at the local Odean in full surround sound, HD, technicolour and all the rest and it gave me the chance to get a proper look at Brians set up and to hear more clearly the sound of those cymbals and drums.
That Hybrid K 20" ride is a really lovely sounding cymbal, better I thought than the Avedis 18 C/R next to it. I noticed though, that the Hybrid K seemed quite rigid on the stand, it didn't seem to move freely in the normal way when he played hard - do you know if Brian has this cymbal set on the stand quite tightly or is it just a quirk of that particular cymbal ? I would love to get hold of a Zildian Custom Hybrid K 20" - just the £350 asking price being the stumbling block....
The China boy next to the Hi-Hats sounded great too, gave a really nice 'whoosh' sound.
The two different hi hat set ups' which I first thought was just an indulgance, really came accross on the film as sounding totally different too - a briliant idea.
The drums themselves were just excellent sounding, rich toms and deep sounding snare on the 14" DW. I went to see Rob Townsend playing with Paul Jones last wek, he had the same DW set up - his snare sounded identical to Brians, deep and throaty.
BTW - your website is excellent and gave me all the info I needed on Brians set up, cheers.

Kev.

Ps - You may remember me - sat behind you at the Shads farewell show NIA 2005 down at the front, in fact right in front of the p.a. !!

Hi Everyone,
I 'm the drummer with the South West Shadows Club (Exeter Devon), and i have just treated myself to a new kit,
DW collectors series broken glass, i think it's the same kit used by Brian Bennett on the final tour.
The sound is great, worth every penny.
