If you can find one an Ampeg B15N is a great choice. They have been around since the ‘60s. The sound is unbeatable, they are compact and reasonably light weight. They have enough power for any small to medium size gig especially if you’re playing Shadows tunes which are generally not played at deafening volume levels. Check out this builder,

His version of the Ampeg B15 is arguably better than the original.
He is based in Canada but don’t be put off, he is well established and ships worldwide. If you’re handy with a soldering iron he will supply his amps as a kit. His documentation and support are first class. Well worth investigating.

Interesting. The only thing I would say is that the aim of the original post was to find something lighter. This would appear to weigh about the same as the Behringer if not more.

However, if that's not an issue -- as it may not be for other players -- then Ampeg is a very good name!

Indeed, the idea was to "go lighter" without losing the sound. The TC kit I bought 2 1/2 years ago has certainly fitted the bill!

It's noticeable, as we all get older, that a lot of bands are now using lightweight/smaller gear such as Katana or Session amps for their lead guitarists.
