Eden pedal improves bass tone

Maybe some of you other bass players have discovered the Eden World Tour DI pedal already, but it's certainly joined my select group of 'can't do without' pedals.

It's a combined preamp and DI unit with XLR and jack outputs so you can simultaneously amp and DI a bass guitar.
The control that makes it special is the 'Enhance' knob. Once you've used it your normal bass tone somehow seems rather 'ordinary'. Read some of the reviews and you'll see what I mean.

For bass players wanting that 'John Rostill' sound when the band plays a 'Burns Era' tune, there's a 'Mid Shift' push button that works with the Mid control. Set it to 2.2K rather than 550Hz and you bring out that Rostill 'click'.

Hi not tried the Eden Pedal
but another alternative is the Tech 21 Sansamp progammable pedal
you can set up and save 3 completely different settings and store for instant recall using the 3 footswitch buttons
i have mine set so i can go from deep double bass sound with fingers , 60,s style using plectrum , and eddie cochran style click bass
without losing any of the drive . dynamics and tone going from finger style to using a pick
and without touching any settings on the amp it also has a di out.
it hasnt got a compressor like the eden pedal i use a seperate markbass compressor.

Thanks Jay. Double bass sound and r’n’r click bass? Wow. Getting those sounds on a bass guitar is quite a feat. Must hear this! Any chance of a sound file of each setting?

Hi
Iain
i havent got any means of recording a decent demo
doesnt realy get the sound of a double bass just make it easier to get a nice low tone
similar to a DB and likewise the 60's picked sound with more attack without losing all the depth etc
This video outlines some of the features
