Thanks Phil a great clip
He was On so Many Hits In the early 70's ,Blue mink, T.rex ,Lou reed, Sky etc etc
Fantastic bass player.
i even remember him being on a saturday night game show "You bet "
Where He attempted To Identify Different Makes Of bass By just listening to 1 note.

Regards

Hi Phil
I cant remember How many He Guessed Correctly
Maybe a search Through you tube May Come up with something
Il Have a look later on.
There were certainly some great session bass players Around in the 70's
George ford, mo Foster, Alan jones to name but a few connected to the shadows
i also like Alan tarney's Bass lines On The Live at Paris olympia recordings
a very underestimated Bass player.
And The latest Recordings With mark griffiths Are Superb.

I saw Herbie Flowers many times when he was with Sky. Fantastic bass player (and decorated tuba!).

As for Alan Tarney, anyone who can write tunes as beautiful as these needs no estimation:

Bob.
