The Hofner Violin Bass just looks all wrong unless it's left-handed.

I remember Tony Jackson (original bass-player with The Searchers) playing one - it loked decidely odd.

My brother who plays bass, had an Epiphone Viola Bass a couple of years ago, then sold it on. He then bought a secondhand Tokai Violin Bass, but didn't like it as much, & I have to agree with him. He then sold that on & has just bought another Epiphone. He concludes that the Epiphone is the best of the bunch in quality of manufacture, finish & playability. This is, of course, in the budget end of the model, not the expensive Hofner German versions. He hasn't tried those.

Tony.
