Just read that Charlie has passed away, aged 91.

A lovely man whom I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to at the1995 Pipeline Convention.
He had just brought out the Supershadow 5 head Copicat, which looked good but a little expensive at the time.
Certainly he will be fondly remembered as a master of inventions.

More sad news, photo below was the last time I saw him at Lakeside in 2005, though we spoke far more recently on the phone. RIP Charlie. :(

Back in the day if you didn't have a Copicat you probably had a Rapier or a Dominator or a Westminster - it was a long list.
A sad loss but a lasting legacy. Rest in peace Charlie.

My first amp was a Westminster.....served me well until I could afford a Supertwin Vox in 1962....another sad loss....

CW was a true entrepreneur of his era and did all of us oldies a big favour with his products, without which being a guitarist in the 1950s would have been a lot harder....

He should be celebrated as such......thanks Charlie for everything......
