Actor Dudley Sutton who appeared in the 1962 Film The Boys has died aged eighty five, he was famous for appearing in the TV show Lovejoy

Yes, something of a forceful character, he was 29 when making his film debut in The Boys.

I liked him in 'The Boys', and that's probably where I first became aware of him, but I loved him as Mr Carter in 'The Beiderbecke Affair' (and the two following series). He had the comic timing and chemistry to make such an offbeat and individual script work so well, perfectly complementing James Bolam and Barbara Flynn's obvious rapport.

He was a gifted and successful actor. RIP.

He once mentioned paying rock guitar as one of his hobbies. A man needs a hobby!
