Subject title above taken from The Sunday Mail (27.01.2019) - a very interesting article which gives a detailed account of the bitter battle between Monty Norman and John Barry about who wrote the James Bond theme - in the end after an antagonistic court case it was decided that Monty Norman wrote the music. I suspect that without Vic Flick's contribution on guitar and John Barry's orchestral arrangement the James Bond theme would not have been not been such a big and long lasting hit it has been (and still is). Mention was made about Vic Flick's fee for his contribution i.e £7 and ten shillings! Well worth a read.

He certainly didn't pawn that guitar; he sold it to the shop for $50,000.

Rick Harrison (the shop's proprietor) later got $10,000 for it at at the famous Beverly Hills auction house "Julien's".

That's right, a $40,000 loss, plus whatever Julien's charges were.
