Like DM, I will not be there, but Rob and his family and friends will be in my thoughts.

Having now found out how to extract pictures from an Android phone, it seems an appropriate time to describe Rob's funeral.
The entry music was Apache by The Shadows, with the welcome and opening words by Dick Debney, a Christian funeral celebrant.
There were varios prayers and hymns, with the singing led by one of the choirs of which Rob was a member
Memories of Rob were given by his two daughters, with a tribute given by David Nevols of the Joe Meek Society.
The closing music was Telstar by The Tornados.

Many of Rob's friends from the music world were there, and here's a picture taken at the wake, held at a local pub. Left to right are Jim Nugent (guitar guru of this parish), Ken Penrose (drums, The Triumphs), Trev Faull, (Keyboard,The Triumphs)The picture size has been reduced to fit with the file size restrictions of this website.

So sad and stunned to hear this. I have followed and enjoyed reading Rob's articles in Record Collector and of course as an excellent sleeve note writer on the many LPs and CDs I have bought over the years.
He did so much for the Shadows community in general.
A reminder that we are all getting old and things don't stay forever.
My condolences to Rob's friends and family, you will be missed greatly, thank you for your great work and enthusiasm in keeping the Shadows name out there and remembered.
