Wonderful Land?

Postby Minishadow » 07 Oct 2012, 11:43

Hey guys,

I've heard a few people play along to the ORIGINAL recording of Wonderful Land, without Hank's lead. Anybody know where I can source this from? I also believe I've heard a few others such as The Savage and Peace Pipe, used in the same way.

Cheers,
Robson ;)

Hi Robson,
If you have the original stereo recording of 'Wonderful land' (not the 1977 re-mix i.e the one without the Tom-Toms) then download Audacity & run it through the on-board vocal remover or any one of several free standalone Vocal Remover software which is compatible with your operating system.
It is a case of making one yourself.
Hope this helps.

Isn't it true though, that this only works if the lead guitar is on its own, ie nothing else occupying the centre space in the stereo picture?

Generally speaking yes if we are lucky, sometimes like 'Apache' & several other Shads tunes it doesn't work at all well or well enough if you are not happy sharing centre stage with Hank & to be fair it's you & only you that you want to hear not Hank otherwise why bother?. :D

Guess everyone knows about Gorans backing tracks.
Thought it worth a mention (I am a newbie and his website is magic for me)
