My chord gives that particular F on the fourth string (on a 12-string guitar tuned EADGBE with the lower four courses tuned in octaves). I said as much (see above).

Not that it's my chord - it is widely recognised as the best single-instrument simulation of the start of the record and I certainly didn't invent it.

I have always played it the way described in Jays diagram. It's also easy for playing the twiddly bit at the end by lifting the finger off the third fret
