Saw it last night nothing new but good to see archive shots and to hear from the remaining Shadows.

I did not know the program was on. Normally members give warning so I nearly missed it.
I noted there were quite a few people on so I posted to let them know.
This post is somewhat irrelevant now - so I don't mind if one of the moderators takes it off.

Cheers keep safe

Watched the Piers Morgan interview last night on ITV Catch up (where it's available until 25th November... a date that I'll never forget, although everyone else seems to!). It's good. It covers just about everything - briefly in some cases - and Cliff appears to get a bit emotional here and there. Every member of the Shadows (i.e. those who were 'official' Shadows) appears; Marvin, Welch, Bennett, Harris, Meehan, Locking, Rostill, Hawkshaw and Farrar, either in new interviews, old footage or photos. Cliff gives 'Licorice' a special mention and says that it was Lic who got him interested in religion. Olivia Newton-John also appears, as does Pat Farrar. It's worth watching.

As I was watching Life Stories, I was thinking back to the documentary ‘When Piers met Sir Cliff’ a few years ago when he interviewed Cliff in Barbados, they played tennis and went to Cliff’s old council house in Cheshunt. They obviously get on well, and it was nice to see all the friends contributing. I did think John Farrar looked a bit thin though. Whatever Hank, Bruce and Brian Bennett are on, it’s obviously working.

I don't usually watch Piers Morgan (or others of a like kind) but I did see this programme (of course).

I'm sure that I'd never seen some of those vintage archive clips before (presumably from a BFI copy of "Oh Boy!").

PS: I did once see a Piers Morgan "show" in the USA. He seemed to be more relevant and even entertaining there.

Yes, the initial Oh Boy! clip shows Jet and Terry Smart (with snare drum) behind Cliff. Also the Living Doll clip must, presumably, have been a preview of the new release (recorded on 28th April 1959), which was issued in July 1959, after the final edition of Oh Boy on 30th May.

Or could it have been a clip from “Drumbeat” which was on BBC TV at the time of release and on which Cliff/Shads also appeared?

Yes, good point, Iain. According to the cliffrichardsongs.com site, they made three appearances on Drumbeat, including that on 4th July 1959, performing Living Doll and Baby I Don't Care. However, there is just something about the staging and lighting in the clip that seems, to me, typically Jack Good-esque!

Another fact, already documented, I recall, is that on the 9th May, Cliff became the first star to feature on two live BBC TV shows on the same night: Drumbeat (his first appearance) and something called Here's To The Next Time...
