Sad indeed :( Mad as a brush he was. I remember seeing him in the sixties when I was around sixteen-ish. I used to think: 'Who's that old git on top of the pops?' 'Should'nt he be collecting his pension now? :D The way you think when you are young eh? :lol:
He would only have been coming up for his forties :roll:
He did wonderful things in his life for countless people and was never changed by his fame. Much to be admired.

Yep, very sad. I guess a lot of us grew up watching him on TV (TOTP's etc). Didn't realise he was 84, but then we're all getting on i suppose!

My first memory of Sir Jimmy was in the early sixties on Radio Luxembourg with his Teen and Twenty Disc Club (or the T.T.D.C. as he called it)

I seem to remember he actually met Elvis Presley in person

Indeed a great man who will be sadly missed in many quarters
