Hi All,
I am considering selling my Epiphone ES 295 guitar, i have been the sole owner of this guitar from new in around 1998. Just testing the waters to see if anyone would be interested in it on this site, if i do decide to sell in the new year. At the moment there are 2 the same as mine on ebay, priced at £699 and £849.99. I'm looking for round about the £600 mark, but I'd be open to sensible offers. Everything on my guitar is original and in very very good condition. I can provide more detailed photographs if anyone is interested.
I used to have the original epiphone catalogue, that this was advertised in. As far as i can remember, this guitar was classed as a rock-a-billy box and not the Scotty Moore that people advertise them as now (Although he did play a Gibson version of this guitar in the '50's, without the vibrato).
When i first joined this forum, i asked about tuning problems with these types of guitars, and thanks to a lot of knowledgeable people who told me to change the gauge of the strings to 11's, i haven't had any problems. One thing i have discovered is, playing these 'F' holed, thick, hollow bodied guitars through higher powered amps, it can create feedback.
As i said before, mine is completely original. Quite a few you do come across have been modified, ie pick-ups, bridge saddles
Here's some photos of my guitar...Sorry about the size of the photos, it's the smallest i could get them, if you click on them it will show you a nice photo. I have included 1 of the serial number inside the guitar for anybody who wants to look it up.
If anyone is interested let me know, as i said i'd be open to sensible offers only
I live in the Wolverhampton area, so you could either collect, or i may be able to meet you 1/2 way.
Cheers
