You say "The TV of choice" has only one SCART socket...

If your external devices only connect via SCART (and assuming you aren't ready to replace them just yet) if I were you, I'd choose a TV that has more than one (eg, a new Bravia).

Just sayin'...

Simples? :?:

You can also get instead a Blu Ray player, which will also play DVDs for little more money...
As you new TV is likely to be HD, it would make sense to have an HD player !

But it's still possible to connect several scart devices to a single input, using a scart switch (manual or automatic), this is what I have long been using. Her is an example (manual) : http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/multi-scart-s ... unit-mk36p
