Record Fair report

Postby George Geddes » 21 Mar 2015, 18:08

Off to the VIP Record fair at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall this morning...

Quite surprised to note that there was a huge amount of vinyl on offer, far more so than CDs, with some vendors only offering the former.

Not much appealed, and I finally settled on a few film music compilations at £1 a CD, plus 'The Stones Gear' and a history of Marshall amps for £15 the pair!

Yes these events at one time were great for finding rare guitar instrumentals and filling in collections.
Last time I went to this particular event, disappointed in many dealers I didn't know selling at grossly
inflated prices on 1960s collectable vinyl.
Still I suppose they might find a mad collector, but not me anymore!!
I thought the best collecting years were the 1980s, before price book listings started to rocket.
