Sounds Live Taken Over

Postby Ryan » 27 Mar 2015, 18:41

Hi All,

I've just had an email from PMT House of Rock (Professional Music Technology Newcastle) Informing me that they are taking over from Sounds Live, which is where i brought my zoom G3X from. Has anybody else had a similar email, or been contacted another way? In other words, does anyone know whether this is legit, or some sort of scam?

Also wondered, if this is the case, what happens in terms of the guarantee for anything you've brought, from Sounds Live, within the last 12 months?

Cheers
Ryan

Hi Ryan

Yes, I too have had the email from PMT (a somewhat unfortunate name, methinks!) because, I assume, I bought some kit from Sounds Live a couple of years ago.

The email says "PMT have taken over premises previously owned by the Sounds Live music shop within the busy Dean Street area of the town centre." I wouldn't know whether that means they've taken over the Sounds Live business as well but the fact that I've received the email suggests that they have acquired Sounds Live's customer database. I don't think it's a scam because, looking at their website, they have 11 other retail outlets and it all seems legit.

I'm sure others on here will have had dealings with PMT (no funny comments, guys).

Cheers.

I've had no dealings with Sounds Live. Probably why I've had no e-mail from P.M.T.

I have, however had dealings with P.M.T. in Birmingham, in particular
Gary Chapman and have found them to be a first class organisation.

Cheers, Alan.

Always thought PMT stood for Potteries Motor Traction! A 'bus company that was based in the Stoke area years ago! :)
