I once read that Bobby's early backing group was called The Shadows(!)...and apparently included Bob Zimmerman (Dylan) on piano at a few gigs...they lived in the same area and knew each other quite well..

Slightly off topic, but continuing the 'other' Shadows theme, this is the extraordinary 1958 UK one-off single release by the Los Angeles half-brother duo, the Carlos Brothers (Jimmy Carlos & Pete Antoniano), featuring the bizarre Jungle Fever b/w with the more conventional doo-wop offering Under Stars Of Love...

I think I'll stick with The Tornados' offering.
