lotto winner ???

Postby drakula63 » 04 Feb 2017, 15:00

why is it that it always seems to be the least worthy people who win mind boggling amounts of money on the lottery?

Or could it simply be that no-one can cope with being propelled so suddenly into the higher echelons of the mega-wealth league?

I'd love to know...

Because if you are a smart winner, you stay anonymous. The world only hears about the show-offs who like to be photographed spraying champagne around or flaunting big cheques.

Mind you, the really smart people don't waste their money on a lottery.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. Once you go public, you are just tempting fate. I remember that Harry Enfield character who was always saying (in a Brummie accent) "I've got considerably more money than yo' ". And that's what you are doing if you shout about your win (as the two in question did). Just keep shhtum - move to another area and keep ya trap shut. That's what I'd do anyway.

I agree about not broadcasting winning the lottery but those who say and act like it won't change
there lives at all and they will carry on just the same must be joking,What's the point of doing the
lottery to win it other than to give you more money than you already have and to enable you to
have and enjoy a better life style than you already have.If you have everything you already desire
then don't bother doing it.I used to do it but stopped as is was a waste of money and the prizes
other than the jackpot where poor at times less than a £1,000 for 5 numbers.

About five or six years ago I got five numbers out of seven on the Euro. FIVE out of SEVEN!!! I won about ten or twenty quid - forgive me for not being able to remember which! I thought that was a tad unfair.

I think it 'funny' that this Adrian character is now blaming 'the press' for the break up of his relationship with the stable girl. I would respectfully suggest that none of the press coverage would have happened in the first place if they hadn't insisted on being photographed in front of a helicopter quaffing champagne! I'd also suggest that if you suddenly find yourself to be irresistible to the kind of girls who wouldn't have looked twice at you before your lottery win, then you may wish to question what it is about you that they suddenly find so attractive.

It'll never happen, but if I had a huge win, I'd leave the area, tell no-one except my family (be hard not to) and live the kind of life I want to live rather than the kind that I have to live. I'd never go public about it and I'd never tell anyone. And, most importantly, I'd finance a documentary about The Shadows which would tell the whole story (with no expense spared) of this incredible but under-appreciated group. Having had a little experience in this area of late, I can promise you it would happen and it would be damn good.

Right, better go and check my lottery ticket! :D

Not The Lottery but picking up on something that Chris said it would be absolutely great if they did make
a film about how Hank,Bruce,Jet and Tony come together to form 'The Shadows' and there following story
about everything,I can't really see it happening
