Abel / Jim

Can only find a few guest houses in Waterlooville ( No Hotels )
Nearest Hotel is Approx 2/3 miles away.
Plenty of Hotels in Southampton near the Docks / terminal.
If you PM me with you email address I can give the details.

Hi Jim, Geffers,

Our only way to get to UK from Florence or Pisa is through Stansted airport (flight arrives around 8 AM on the 26th).
I have a hard time finding a train to Waterlooville from Stansted.
Can you please advise? what is the best way to get to Waterlooville or Southampton from Stansted.

Thank you much,
Abel

I had a long telephone conversation with Abel last night (though it was only early afternoon in Los Angeles).

I hope he won't mind my saying that his plans for August 26th now seem to be:

(a) train from Stansted to Liverpool Street

(b) Circle Line from Liverpool Street to Victoria

(c) walk from Victoria Underground to Victoria Coach Station

(d) National Express from Victoria Coach Station to Southampton coach terminus (wherever that may actually be).

The following day, Christina will arrive at Gatwick. She will probably take the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station, then take a National Express bus from VCS to Southampton.

Abel says he is going to practice. That being the case, watch out for fireworks!

PS: I think Abel is thinking of staying overnight on 26th in Southampton, rather than near Waterlooville.

Southampton Coach Terminus is nothing like you would expect. The Coach Station is a bit of a disappointment.

Its basically quite close to the train station and on the edge of the main shopping centre. The Docks are
If its the usual one its within walking (a little way ) distance of hotels. (0.4 miles to the Novotel hotel)

Hi all,

Flights booked from Pisa to Stansted for me (on the 26th: arrive at 805 AM). plenty of time to get to Southampton.

I only need to book the coach from Victoria coach station to Southampton.

Blessings,

Hi all,

Christina is taking the so-called direct train from Gatwick to Southampton.
She picked the SingleAnyTime option, but it says this: "Valid only for travel via Barnham (changing train or passing through)".
But in the description, it's clearly stated that it's a Direct train from Gatwick to Southampton Central.

Do you know if she needs to change train at Barnham?. It's really not clear.

Thank you much,
Abel

Hi Abel,

I have just checked Christina's train from Gatwick to Southampton, and I can confirm that she does not have to change at Barnham. The train just passes through Barnham.
Hope this helps.

Best Wishes
