Another "political" winner - again. Not that ours was much good anyway - again.
If the Beeb is so strapped for cash, time to dump this farce!?

Never thought I'd be such an old fogey - but everything seems to have been lost on the music front and Eurovision shows it all just for what it is - mindless screaming hysteria about no substance. No melodies worth the name and when it comes to dramatic lighting at important musical moments - aw hell forget that, just turn all the lights on and off - all the time. Oh for red for The Frightened City, Blue for Midnight and the fantastically dramatic lighting Genesis pioneered (see the old Medley on the Mama Tour video)

I used to watch, like many others, for the commentaries by Terry Wogan. I think that whatever it started out as, the very last thing The Eurovision is about, now, is music.

The winnging country must set it up the next years, and most don't want to because of the cost, so they select songs which can't win. It's been the case for UK and France for years ! :D

Bruce tells a joke that goes along the lines of 'Before we went on, Bill Cotton came up to us and said "just make sure you don't win!"'

A bit close for comfort then!

Did I read a while back that Sir Cliff was cheated out of it - and that the country concerned has since admitted it?
