just a little story from when i had the music shop. One day an elderly lady came into the shop carrying an acoustic guitar wrapped in a bin liner. she asked if i could re-string it for her son . I looked at the guitar and asked her where she or her son had got it from. she said the old lady next door had given it to him. Apparently the neighbours son had bought it just before he went into the RAF in the Second World war. He had been killed and the guitar had been in a wardrobe ever since. On hearing that her next door neighbours son was learning the guitar she had given it to him. I contacted Gibson and to cut a long story shorter it was a 1939 L4, in immaculate condition . It was evntually sold to a collector in USA who paid just under 3,000 pounds for it!!
