Some of you may know that, in my 'day job', I am a freelance cartoonist. Back in 2005, I did one of those more unusual cartoon jobs – one which nicely brought together two of my great loves, cartooning and music. Welsh opera singer (and butcher, as she claims in her publicity), Buddug Verona James approached me and asked if I could produce cartoons of the characters which she would be portraying in her one-woman-plus-male-accompaniest show, A Knife At The Opera. The cartoons were to be used as life-size panels, on-stage, behind which Buddug would perform her quick-changes into the various characters.
Now, as we move into 2010, the show is still running and you can view, should you so desire, a short excerpt on YouTube, in which you can see some of the cartoons and listen to Buddug's wonderful voice.
