Cormoran Strike lives in Denmark Street

Postby RayL » 05 Sep 2017, 08:09

If you've been enjoying The Cuckoo's Calling (3 of 3 last Sunday BBC1 but more on the way), you'll have spotted the Cormoran Strike has his office (and his camp bed) in Denmark Street*. The doorway they used for the filming was No.6 on the south side, next to NO.TOM GUITARS.

Sorry about the van in the pic - the Crossrail workings have forced long queues of traffic into Denmark Street.

It's on iPlayer at present. You can see Robin walking down Denmark Street when she goes to Strike's office for the first time in Ep.1 at about 5' 20".

*for overseas readers, Denmark Street in London's West End is/was known to musos for the number of musical instrument shops crammed into a street about 40m long. At one time it was 'Tin Pan Alley' where all the music publishers had their offices. These days the music shops are being squeezed out by greedy developers.

I noticed that too, Ray. I told my wife that I bought my Burns Marvin from Andy's Guitars in Denmark Street in 1988. She didn't seem to be interested...

You couldn't have used the magic words - 'shop', 'shopping' or 'shoes' ?
