Alternatives to Photobucket?

Postby RayL » 18 Sep 2017, 07:25

As many of you will know, Photobucket found that they weren't making enough money from ads and, in a sudden change of policy (the technical phrase is 'death wish') , decided to stop users from linking images to other sites ('3rd party hosting') unless they paid large amounts of money. Fortunately, all the pics that I had on Photobucket were also stored elsewhere, but I understand that some people weren't that lucky. I deleted all my pics on Pb before I cancelled, just in case they decide to sell them on to some other firm as part of a takeover.

Does anyone have a recommendation for another photo-hosting site? Preferably without the level of intrusive ads that made Pb almost unusable before their death wish.

I have been told that imgur.com / postimage.org / tinypic.com are all good.

Thanks, Chris.

Tinypic are owned by Photobucket but I'll investigate the other two.
