Spectrum is GOLD

Amazingly, it's 50 years since Gerry Anderson's Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons TV series.

To celebrate, Big Finish have just released a huge box set, containing 7 CDs - these CDs contain the original Captain Scarlet mini albums from the 1960s and some narrated versions of some of the TV episodes, released by the fan club in the 1990s. Disc 7 also contains a new documentary with contributions from all manner of names from on screen and behind the camera. I contributed some interview snippets to the documentary (Tony Barwick and Sylvia Anderson) and so I was the very grateful recipient of a free set! I've only listened to the documentary so far, and will be wrapping it up and opening it at Christmas! I think one of the discs has got a selection of the programme's music on it. Along with Thunderbirds, Joe 90 and UFO, I tend to think that Barry Gray's best work was on Captain Scarlet.

That looks so cool. It would be a great Christmas gift for sure. Can't believe that show is 50 years old.
