Red Stratocaster

Postby drakula63 » Wed Jul 04, 2018 8:58 pm

As many of you know... I cannot play the guitar. However, I know what I like and I like this red Fender Strat, owned by one of my friends. And so, looking more like one of the Hairy Bikers than either Hank or Bruce, here I am in a photo taken last Friday. Beautiful guitar. Shame I can't play it! I shall put some more pics in my Red Strat thread elsewhere...

(P.S. hard to believe that this pic and the one on the right, my avatar pic, were taken exactly 39 years apart! Then again...) :D

Great choice of grass cutting machine in the background.

By inverting the colours you have a Strat in a tasty shade of turquoise and the world's first Fiesta Red Mower!

Ha ha! Makes me look blond too! Not my back garden and so I hadn't even noticed the lawn mower! Mine is still in its box!

Yeah, it's a lovely guitar. I know one chord, so maybe there is still hope...

(P.S. I have also just noticed my 'shadow'...)

One chord? You're well on your way.

I only know two more and I've bluffed my way through fourteen bands in fifty years!

Well done. True I suppose... it worked for the Quo!

'Funny' story: circa 1979/1980 I got an acoustic guitar for Christmas. I managed to learn said three chords (can't remember which ones, but I bet you can all guess) and then found it too much of a struggle to get beyond this. In a fit of pique, I grabbed a pair of pliers and cut all the strings! I then put the now useless guitar up the loft, until my brother retrieved it and sold it to one of his friends for 50pence! I kid you not!

Such great memories!

I've now forgotten the other two chords, so it's down to one!
