I too finished reading my copy just a few days ago and found it to be a really interesting source of information regarding the period during which so many instrumental groups were becoming popular.

After having read "Vic Flick Guitar Man", the matter of how Vic Flick felt about the James Bond Theme certainly came through loud and clear. Of course it is only one side of the story and with John Barry dying in 2011
it will probably stay that way.

Thoroughly recommended.

Thanks for your comments Keith - I suspect that if I was in Vic Flick's shoes I would have felt somewhat aggrieved with John Barry's attitude towards him and the other musicians in the JB7. I agree with you it's an excellent book, very well researched - I've got another 50 pages to go before I finish.

The Shads seem to come out of this book as unobtainable beacons of popularity and quality in their field - which of course is quite right.
