GOTSLANDRICKA?

Postby Gatwick1946 » Sun Feb 23, 2020 12:10 am

As part of my ongoing mission to seek new beers etc - can any of our Swedish friends provide any information on a brew called Gotslandricka - which i believe is, in english, a "Farmhouse Beer", which was brewed by farmers to give to their workers, as water was often full of germs etc. Other Euro countries seem to have their own versions according to their traditions. I am wondering if it has ever been bottled and been available in the UK?

By the way, anyone down Sussex way, Lewes based brewers Harveys are doing a nice Black Stout (4.8% ABV) - worth a try if you see it in a Harveys pub - its not just one of their seasonal brews. A bit like Threakstons Old Peculiar, but slightly lighter.

Kindest regards,
Christopher
