Myths in Pop Music

Postby Derek Mowbray » 27 Feb 2020, 20:41

There are certain Myths associated in Popular music, a couple that I've heard are , Rod Stewart played harmonica on Millie`s My Boy Lollipop , John Peel played mandolin on Rod Stewart`s Maggie May, Carly Simon`s song Your So Vain was dedicated to Mick Jagger , and did Cliff play guitar on Qautermassters Stores ,any others ?. Just thought of two more, Paul McArtney wrote Mary Hopkins Those Were The Days , and John Barry wrote The James Bond Theme.

I heard the You’re So Vain was about Mick Jagger.
Didn’t Jimmy Page play harmonica on a number of tracks as a very young session musician pre LZ?

He supposedly played harmonica on CR's Time Drags By in 1966.
