Watched this film on channel 306 recently, - The Shadows and Bill McGuffie got creds for the music. But I must have fallen asleep and missed any tunes. It reminded me of a documentary.

Of more interest was the preceeding 10 minute interview with Jess Conrad, talking about how he got the part, and how he got his start in show business. In 1961'ish I bought his 45 rpm called "Mystery Girl".

He must be about the same age as Cliff Richard.

Kindest regards,
Christopher

In fact, Jess Conrad is more than four years older than Cliff Richard, born September 1936.

Prior to The Boys, Jess Conrad appeared uncredited as a dancer in Cliff's debut film, Serious Charge, in 1959.

Aye, according to the I.M.D.B. Mr Conrad was born on 02/02/1936.

So he is ten years older than me, but looks ten years younger. What pills is he on?, I want some LOL!!!!

PS was there any music in the film? I found the film a bit old fashioned and boring, (that's me to a tee!) fell asleep in the middle and did not notice any music over the titles and end credits.

I was expecting to hear:-

1.Theme from The Boys.
2.The Girls.
3.Sweet Dreams.
4.The Boys (reprise of track 1)

The film was in black and white, whereas I was expecting colour, as per the cover of The Shadow's EP.

I expect it will be on again soon - channel 306 show a lot of repeats?

kindest regards,
Christopher

The EP cover is also in black and white, with some hand colouring of the image (only of the floor and the framework of the cinema foyer window, seen from inside). The only other colour on the EP sleeve is the lettering artwork.

Stretching a connection here ... if you haven't seen Jess Conrad "backed" by Hank and many other pop legends, do!

I saw Jess Conrad signing autographs in Rounday Park in Leeds 1963 he said to someone I want to go now ,me and my mate joked about it years afterwards .
