Cheers Dave for the new Patches.
I have to be honest - I personally can go with the Old set and the new. ( I understand this is Work In Progress)
I have been programming my G3X with additional effects to include later Shads numbers and others like Roger Paulsson - so I thought it essential to get to grips with the G3X.
Initially I did think I was not understanding the concepts - but when Dave sent his original set I realised I was on track. The main issue was using two or more Delays getting more echoes than I expected. I must admit I had the mindset to set up nice sounds and not worry too much how close to the original it was.

I based all my additional G3x settings on the Etap2HW plug in - loaded into my DAW.
I play with a MIM Deluxe Strat or a MIM Roadhouse Strat (9S)- so I am not going to get the single coil sound like a Marvin Strat - but :---

Over the last 9 months I have become very switched on to the sound with respect to the thickness of plectrum I use.
So using Dave's latest patches - for Apache and The Frightened City - if I use a thin Plectrum (M-L) - to me - its very close.
The amp kit is an MV50 and a BC112. Gain on 30% tone on 25%.

Dave - I note the Amp Simulation is used in the patches - I switch these off when going through the MV50/Bc112. Is this what you intended?
PS - Atlantis is pretty good(Medium Plectrum). Have not tried all the patches yet.

Very nice of you to do this Dave.

Hi Stuart, the amp sim wasn't used as such to replicate the amp it was used for the extra EQ it afforded me to get the echoes to sound as close as possible to the Meazzi tone.
It isn't easy to do so you have to use whatever means you have available at your disposal and it does a decent job. I leave everything in place when plugged into my amp and it sounds very similar to the TVS3 tone wise, though not exact. That' isn't to say it's written in stone, but you can of course edit further if you believe that you can improve the sound, but I'm happy to gig with the patches even more so than when I first had the Zoom G3x in 2015. :)

Thanks for that Dave.
Pity the equaliser on the G3x is so limited. I you put an equaliser in front of the G3x - you can't switch it with the patches.
Maybe the Eq and the parametric together may help - I'll give it a go later.
Frustrating - It's nearly all there but not quite.

Yes indeed that's a weakness in the G3, but it isn't a major problem as it's only a few per cent different from perfection and don't forget the price, how cheap it is. Most people who used the very expensive Alesis Q20 in the early 2000s would kill for the sound of the Zoom G3 today so you need perspective here. I can tell you that the G3Xn is even better than the G3x in some ways, it's called progress. I'm afraid that sonically the Alesis machines that we used have been left behind, unless there's a way of getting some EQ into those echoes.
I use my Colourbox 2 which does a fantastic job at getting the echoes similar in tone to the TVS3 because of it's sheer versatility, but it is a £400 pedal. Paul Rossiter got those Meazzi echo tones spot on and although the tone I am speaking of isn't by and large a great tone for most sonic needs, it is a big part of Hank's exciting early sound. I have noticed that my own Meazzi Echomatic has a magical tone in it's preamp, but slightly differs from the TVS3 that is based on Hank's early Meazzi. Hank only had that wonderful tone for a brief period whilst he had use of his Meazzi, the Kingston CD shows that, but later when he moved to the Binson Echorec his sound changed slightly and was less 'exciting' for want of a better word as The Shadows 'mellowed'.
Everybody coming to my house who I have shown my Meazzi and TVS3 to have commented on that exciting early Hank sound and it has a youthful presence that is immediately recognisable as 1961 for those of us who witnessed it. On a selfish note I'm so pleased that I lived my teenage years i the 1960s when all of this was happening because there has been nothing, nor can I imagine anything like it happening again - ever. Just enjoy the music. :)

Regarding the question I was asked about the patches working on the Zoom G1Xon, the answer is a resounding yes.
I finally took delivery of a G1Xon today and programmed the Echomatic 1 & 2 for our favourite tunes and they sound as good as anything I've heard, which is incredible for £35. :)
I need to find out if there's a way of saving them to share.

Thanks Pete that's good news. I've been tinkering all day with it and I've got some amazing results, comparable with sounds from far more expensive machines.
When I've figured out how the software works I'll make the patches available for anyone who wishes to use them. :)

Hi Dave
That's great news, the link that Peter gave you is for the software that I told you about.
Look forward to the patches when you have sorted

I'm really busy as we are gigging on bank Holiday Monday and we are rehearsing the next few days. I'll try and check out the software when I get a minute and load up what I've done so far which is Echomatic 1 & 2 with variants for Wonderful Land, Shadoogie , Apache, Frightened City and similar as we. as Flingel Bunt which is a one off. :)
