I recall Dave saying in a recent post that he had managed to "squeeze a little more from the G3", so I'd love to try his patches as well if that's possible (and providing Dave has no objections of course).

Don't want to step on anyones toes though, so if it's too much hassle, or simply not convenient, no worries

I'd be delighted for anyone to use my patches and I know I can rely on the guys who have them to share them with others.
I'd like to get my hands on a G3 again because I've learned a lot since I made those patches. The echo timings are always the same on these machines, but there are subtle edits that can improve the tone. If I do pick one up for a song I'll try and edit some of my findings into them.
I'm doing it on a Zoom MS100-BT with great success and in a way the programming I think is similar with regard to what's changeable on the G3.
What I will say is that owning the TVS3 and Meazzi Echomatic it is impossible to perfectly replicate the timbres that they possess, but having played with all of them and demonstrated to friends since taking delivery of these wonderful machines, only guitarists have gotten excited about the near perfection and quite a few people prefer the sound of the more modest machines. That shows me that in the big scheme of things, the only satisfaction of having the guitar sounding nearly perfect is self indulgence, 'cos quite a few people don't give a toss so is it worth the expense, ? I guess it's down to personal satisfaction.

I've been playing with the G3x all afternoon and soon got my head around programming once more, once you understand the numbers it's simple.
I have had a lot of enjoyment recreating my other sounds for the rest of our show, using compression, distortion and modulation, if used sensibly this is a serious piece of kit.
I have discovered ways of improving the echoes and getting them more in line with the real deal, but my Meazzi is at the hospital at the moment undergoing modifications, so I won't be able to compare the Zoom G3x with the real deal until it comes home. I've been using the very similar Zoom MS100-BT and they are very similar to each other, the MS100-BT benefiting from more choice of everything, but the G3x is something I could easily make a living with if I had to.
I originally ditched it because of the noise sometimes coming through whilst scrolling the patches on stage, which doesn't sound good in a concert. That said, by careful setting up and choice of where I put the noisy patches I could make it easier to use with a bit of thought. It was around the time of the H&C being released when I had mine and I sold it when the new machine arrived, I have to admit not my greatest decision.

Well folks like I said, I borrowed my friend Tony Parnham's Zoom G3x to re-acquaint myself with it's capabilities and remind myself how to programme it with the echoes for Shadows music. I made some new patches using knowledge I have picked up since making the first patches in 2015 an I feel that I have improved them a lot tonally and more accurately with revised timings to the head positions.
This really is a good machine and for those on a budget is a very good affordable option to get even closer to the sound we love.
This can never be a real Meazzi, nor is it capable of cloning a TVS3, but I will say with confidence that sitting and playing in my living room, the sound is more authentic than I ever managed to get it with the old Zooms, Alesis & Magicstomps. I put it down to the improved technology with the components and of course experience.
I'll make new patches available to all for free, as soon as I'm satisfied with them all.
