Eurovision Strat

Postby GoldenStreet » Sun May 23, 2021 12:55 pm

Just seen the online picture of the triumphant Italian Eurovision winners, in contrast to the impressively 'distressed' looking Stratocaster. ;)

Apart from the quality, or otherwise, of the music, it could be described as something of an annual Brit bashing fest, now exacerbated by Brexit!

Quite humiliating to get absolutely no points from the professional jury as well as the public. I must say, the guy didn't sing too good. There were some good songs, but I think the Italian winner falls in the same category as Lordi back in 2006. A totally ridiculous choice for a winner of the Eurovision Song Contest.

It's a joke now, not that I watch it, which has been hi-jacked by all the wrong people. Even if the Beatles reformed and sang Let It Be, the UK would still come last. We all know why.

BTW, it's also worth remembering that both Cliff (in 1968) and the Shadows (in '75) were denied victories by fixed voting and tactical voting. That's two more we could and should have won. I haven't watched it since 2003... but the photos and reviews are enough. More than enough. We need to get out now and tell them where to stick it.
