Free patches for Zoom G1 Four - G1Xon

Postby dave robinson » Tue Jun 08, 2021 10:48 am

Good morning, thanks to my friend Tony Parnham who lent me his wonderful Zoom pedals recently, I have been able to assemble some patches for people who are needing them.
I have now have patches for thd Zoom G1 Four, G1x Four, G1Xo, G1Xon, G3 & G3X, G3Xn & G3n. All timings are based on my real Meazzi and Echolette, with help from the TVS3. After years of feeling that some of the echo sounds weren't exciting me I decided to find out why and just a few tweaks, with the help of information gained from Paul Rossiter put things right. His dedication to accurately measuring the sounds scientifically have helped me enormously and actually excited me when I hear those bits that have been missing in my sound. We are indeed fortunate to be able to buy devices capable of reproducing our sound so closely - and at a very reasonable cost, there has never been a better time to get into guitar music.
These are echo patches mainly for use through an amplifier, but by using a graphic EQ of Joyo AC Tone type pedal they will sound OK used direct into the desk or software.
The reason for my not using the amp simulator is simple, there isn't enough room on some of the machines and the echoes are more important.
Anyone requiring these needs to send me an email and I will send back directly to that address.

COULD I ALSO ASK THAT YOU FEEl FREE TO SHARE WITH ANYONE WHO ASKS AT ANY TIME, THANKS. :)

address is j200axeATme.com replacing AT with @ :)

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for the Patches for the ZOOM G3X-G1Xon and G1Four Pedals that you sent me. It is very generous of you to go to the time and trouble to buy or borrow the Pedals just to make the Patches for others to use (and they sound great) it is much appreciated.
Cheers Phil. :D

You're all more than welcome, it's something that I'm passionate about and I enjoy 'digging' to find what's been missing for years. I was sick of being told I didn't know what I was talking about over Flingel Bunt, but I now hear what was never there before, thanks largely to Paul and the TVS3.
I felt sorry for people forking out good money for stuff on eBay and elsewhere for sub standard products. To me £80 is £80, cheap or not, but if half the patches are of no use it is meaningless. I have seen the patches I speak of along with the paperwork that accompanies them, but listening to them I can hear that they are flawed and the biggest laugh of all are the clowns who bootlegged the original patches from twenty years ago and copied the mistakes, which we all accepted - myself included, until I started taking an interest and listening closely again.
Anyway that's now water under the bridge and we move on and as I said before, lockdown has caused me to re-visit the problem and get to the bottom of echos once and for all.
I just want people to enjoy what has been learned by me sorting out my own mistakes and putting something right without breaking the bank. ;)

Dave very kindly sent me his Zoom G1Four patches. I have been hunched over my pc for hours trying to load them via ToneLib Zoom, but to no avail! There’s obviously something I’m not doing right, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,
You need to open the downloaded zip file from dave then open the appropriate file, windows or mac. Connect your G1Four to the PC by usb cable only and launch Tonelib Zoom if it does not recognize the pedal reconnect the usb cable. Save your existing patches to a file then empty a patch space and in the top left of tonelib screen you have an import icon click on this then find the downloaded patches click on the patch you want click OK and that patch should load into the empty patch space then repeat. Hope this helps.
Cheers Phil. :D

Hi Phil,

Thanks very much for your help. I realised that there was something missing, the left hand pane was minimised, therefore the necessary menu buttons were missing! Now all sorted and files loaded OK.

Thanks again.
