Hi,

Just to add to the confusion here, I was led to believe that there was a difference between how 'Business Sellers' and 'Private Sellers' were treated?

Because I run a photography business, somewhere down the line and many years ago E-Bay uprated my registration to that of a Business user because I bought and sold some of my photography equipment through E-Bay as well as private items. However although I had to jump through a number of hoops to 'register' for the new system I was never asked for any further ID. Yes, I had to register my bank account with them (which I was never happy about doing because it enables them to withdraw money from it as well as deposit money to it) and confirm that the bank account was mine by identifying the payment of two test transactions. But nothing more. But before going through this 'registration' process I was told that, as a Business seller, if I did not complete the registration then I could not sell as a Business Seller. I was also told that I could not 'demote' my Business account back to a Private one; if I didn't want to join the new system then I would have to close my Business account and start again from square one as a Private seller losing all my previously earned feedback.

After a two hour web chat yesterday, I am no better off. But when I pointed out that I'd heard about other eBay users not being asked for photo ID, I was informed that the new policy is mandatory and that ALL eBay users will have to provide photo ID if they want to use the direct payments system. So watch out for an eBay email with very small print about changes to their terms and conditions coming your way soon.

eBay did own PayPal but spun it off back into being a publicly traded company in 2015.

My final word on the matter, my payment was received in my bank account yesterday, the 14th. So less than 1 week from listing, best offer accepted, payment made by buyer, eBay processed and transferred my payment to my bank account and funds received all within 3 working days, can’t complain about that.

I had a similar experience to Alan, my money from sales appeared within two working days.
Not sure what's happening with PayPal though, I've had some strange messages from them lately. :|
