I heard references to Herbie Flowers, Francis Monkman, Steve Gray, Alan Tarney and Cliff Richard.

Herbie Flowers certainly got Around in the 70's , Fantastic bass player .
i also remember him on a game show trying to name which model of bass was being used just by listening to 1 note on the instrument
cant remember what the show was called
i watched hits of 1971 on tv last week .id forgotten he wrote Clive Dunns no 1 Of 1971 Grandad .

I didn't actually mean that. I was meaning the references to the Shadows tribute band, Shazam. And the fact that the reviewer was surprised to discover that the Shads had never recorded Carillon.

Ah, I missed that bit. The YouTube link took me to a point in the video a fair bit after it had started. So - I’ve rewound and heard the front now!
I’d forgotten that performance of Carillon - we enjoyed doing it and it certainly went down well.

Chaps, I don't feel this joke has had the appreciation it deserves. Speaking as an Environmental Humourist (I recycle old jokes), I consider it a high quality POW (Play On Words) and worthy of a large round of groans.
