WHY CAN'T WE SPAM THE SPAMMERS??

Postby Stratpicker » Sat Feb 27, 2010 11:13 pm

Are you, like me, sick and fed up with the colossal amount of Spam that falls into your Spam box every single day?
How can the spammers imagine that any of it gets actioned upon?
Is it beyond the wit of man to come up with a way of out-spamming the Spammers by ending it right back to them 100 times over.
It HAS to come from an internet address, however well hidden so why can't the things be fired straight back at them?
cheers

Because

1. the spammer wil probably have dumped the address anyway by the time you respond, and your reply will bounce back to your inbox

and

2. if they have not, all you are doing is confirming that your email address is valid and thereby inviting more spam.

If you feel annoyed, report the spammers to their ISP or to Spamcop www.spamcop.net

Delete the spam, but - trust me - you should never ever reply to it.

I use a pre download software called 'Mailwasher Pro' from http://www.firetrust.com/ both at home and on our business system - does the job for us. Free download at the said website, been using it for nearly ten years now. Highly recommend! ;)

Ian

I had a problem with my old Freeserve address which spammers ended up sort of using variations of... it was one of those addresses that the spammers loved because they just changed the first letters before th @ sign and could send out Spam using my e-mail account. I complained to Freeserve and they could not sort it out and when I asked them to close the email address they told me they could not :!: So I was stuck with it for a few years as this was an old Freeserve addy and they had long sine gone to Orange which I think was why they would not sort it out.... anyway finally 3-4 months back the account was closed with not a word said... that finally solved the problem but yes I used to dread going on holiday and coming back to as many as 2000+ emails :!: gasp.

I tried send emails to the spammer on an auto reply basis but it did not achieve anything. I do not get any viagra anymore how on earth will I cope !!!!

Hi
Like Bill above I to have used Mailwasher for quite a number of years. I am not one to buy software but this is without doubt the best few bob I EVER spent.
The amount of junk I get daily is horiffic but by being able to see my mail on the server and have it sort the genuine from the rubbish for me in seconds is worth its weight in gold.
The guys there are extreemly helpful if you have a problem too.

Steve.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH SPAM??
Did you know that this is National Spam Week?
Spam, or spiced pork with ham, was the main source of meat for many people, during WWII, as it did not form part of the ration. Between 1941 & 1945 more than 100 million pounds of Spam was shipped from USA to Europe to feed the troops. In 1959 the one billionth can of SPAM was produced. In 1970 the 2 billionth. (1970 was also the year that Monty Python did their Spam sketch.) 1980, 3 billionth, 1986 4 billionth, 1994 5 billionth, 2007 7 billionth.
Fried, it took the place of bacon and sausages at breakfast time. Cold, it went well with a salad, or in a sandwich.
I still enjoy it (SPAM I mean) or when it's not available, Pork Luncheon Meat.
So hands off Spam, or I'll start sending you loads of e-mails, full of delicious recipes, such as Sweet and Sour Spam, Spam Lasagne, Spam Fritters, oh, I could go on all day, but I'm feeling hungry now. It must be Spam O'clock!!
