10cc's Mick Wilson - new CD with Brian Bennett on track 1

Postby dave robinson » Wed Apr 27, 2011 10:54 am

I just received a great CD this morning by 10cc member Mick Wilson who was once one of Cliff's backing singers, which was co-written and co-produced with the legendary composer and 10cc founder Graham Gouldman.
The first track 'Take Me Dancing' features Brian Bennett on drums and as expected is excellent, as is the whole album. Who said modern music is rubbish? Time for a re-think on that opinion judging by this CD. RECOMMENDED !

Interested ? Just GOOGLE Mick Wilson and have a listen to the samples =

I'd love it if you all bought this and made it the success it deserves, it's not often I hear a CD with this much quality and likeabilty in this day and age.
Mick has sent a message of thanks for mentioning it here - the album is available from iTunes and Amazon.

Hi Dave,

is 'So The Story Goes' the Jerry Lordan composition? (I could not find this track on the web to listen to, sorry.)

Hi .
We used to get Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders, ex Stockport, Manchester early/ mid 60s at the York street baths hall in Barnsley. Didnt a couple of the Mindbenders go on to start 10cc?
Regards Geoff.

Geoff,
Eric Stewart was an original member of Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders, and when Fontana left in 1965 they became The Mindbenders with Eric taking the lead. In 1968 Gouldman joined the band and wrote a couple of non charting efforts.
The band broke up shortly after.

The original line up of 10cc were Manchester based Eric Stewart (Mindbenders) Graham Gouldman, Lol Creme and Kevin Godley.
Graham has written many pop classics including 'Look Through Any Window', "Heart Full Of Soul', 'No Milk Today',' For Your Love',' Rubber Bullets', 'I'm Not In Love . . . to name just a few.
After Godley and Creme went their own way back in the seventies, Eric and Graham continued to operate as 10cc with new members and had more chart success.
Today they continue without Eric Stewart and were seen only just a few weeks ago at Buxton Pavillion by our drummer Dave Eyre who told me that they were 'Awesome' - a word that he doesn't use lightly.

Mick Wilson, who's CD is the subject of this thread, is a member of the current 10cc line up and Graham has produced and co-written all except one of the tracks. Those who know me are aware that I don't listen to crap and that I am particular about my music - I played this CD twice today so far - PURE QUALITY ! This guy deserves to chart.
