radio show update

Postby drakula63 » 01 May 2012, 12:23

In case anyone is interested, the relaunched Girls Rock gets its first airing tonight at midnight. In the meantime, the programme now has its own webpage from which older editions of the show can be downloaded.

Don't forget, I also try to play something by the Shadows, Cliff and Olivia every Saturday morning between 9 and 12. Only a shame that I can't play nothing but Cliff/Shads/Olivia for the full three hours, but I suspect the boss wouldn't approve!

A few gremlins in the works today, but I managed to play Don't Cry For Me Argentina; A Little More Love and On The Beach.

trentsound - the station that supports Cliff and The Shadows! (and Olivia Newton-John!!!)

Have a good weekend

A good one this morning..

Cliff and Olivia, Suddenly. ELO, Mr Blue Sky. The Jam, A Town Called Malice, Fats Domino, Blueberry Hill and The Shads, Cavatina. Oh and I played Chicken Man by Alan Hawkshaw - AKA the theme from Grange Hill.

Recording next week's Girls Rock shortly - a 1979 special. Don't ask me why, just seems like a good idea...

So poor old Engelbert almost came last did he? Bad luck. I dunno why we bother to enter.

I did my best to get everyone in the Eurovision mood and played Let Me Be The One, Long Live Love and Power To All Our Friends. I even asked if anyone could tell me what or who linked the three songs. Obviously no-one from this forum was listening, as no-one got it. It was, of course, Alan Tarney - the only person to appear on stage in three consecutive Eurovision Song Contests. And in those days, that was worth doing. Nowadays, why bother?

Jubilee Weekend coming up; so plenty of patriotic cakes and as many Shads tunes as I can fit in.

Be seeing you...

Not doing the Saturday Morning show anymore. Too early in the day for me...

However, I have been asked to present the next TWO editions of 'Not On Your Telly' - Sunday nights, 7-9 - and I shall be featuring as much Shadows and Shadows-related stuff as I can comfortably and reasonably squeeze in!!!!

Please tune in at 7PM on Sunday 1st July...
