AUGUST REPORT

we started the day this month with the two teenagers Paul and Sam Hunter
playing the opening set with Hall on drums,Des on bass. Paul,with younger
brother Sam playing rhythm opened with Walk don't run followed by Peacepipe.
Sam's lead set then included Round and Round and FBI. The two lads then
showed their harmonic skills by playing out with Theme from a filleted place.

Jim B with Mike on rhythm,Cyril drums played Flingel bunt and Dance on.

Philip with Brian on rhythm,Cyril drums followed with Geronimo and the
Stranger.

John B's set with Mike on rhythm and David bass,Hall drums,Chris keyboard
started with TFYL and Des took over bass for the Lost city. George joined on
rhythm for the Frightened city and John's original "September time".

Bernard next played Zambesi and Brazil with Jim on rhythm,Des bass,then
Jim with George on rhythm played Find me a Golden street and the High and the
mighty.

Back on rhythm,Jim joined Brian who played Some are lonely and Sleepwalk.

Mark played Wonderful land with David on bass.

The 1st half was completed with Simon playing Genie with Mike before being
joined by Jim and Bernard for the very popular Theme from something really
important.

The second Half commenced with Mike and Simon playing the Lute number
followed by Guitar tango on acoustic with Chris on keyboard,then Jim,George
and Bernard joined for the Sky number,Carillion.

The two young Shadowhunters,Sam and Paul,with George on rhythm and David
on bass returned playing Blue star and South of the border before being
joined by Brian for A Blue day and three galleons.

Jim B's second set included TFYL with Brian on rhythm and David on bass,
and then Cavatina with George on rhythm and Des bass.

Philip's set,with Brian rhythm and David bass continued with Apache and
Wonderful land.

Bernard returned playing Midnight helped by Brian and Des before being
joined by George and Jim for Goin'Home.

Jim played Gonzales and then Tonight with George on rhythm.

Chris took the lead on keyboard and,with a big rhythm section played
Time is tight and Telstar.

To complete the day Jim,George,Chris,Hall and Des attempted a half learnt
Memory having not played it since before George's operation. Could have been
better but Jim's AC30 complained by blowing a couple of valves !!

A good day,a little quieter than some but still about 40 numbers played,
at least 21 different lineups.

Next month,September 5th.
