This has the making of a fantastic weekend! "Past Masters" are guaranteed to put on a great show and "Shazam" provided us with first-class entertainment at 'Pipeline Convention' a few days ago. Terry Devon is always a barrel of laughs and we assume that Kevin will hold the event together.

Sorry I can't make it.

Alan.

Thanks for another great weekend. I was delighted to win the guitar in the raffle, had a bit of a strum when I got home and found it to be very easy to play, especially if you have short fingers like me. Chuffed to bits.

A special thank you to Tony Arrowsmith for playing Banana Man & Sister Arthur; not heard very often and most welcome.

Always a pleasure to see our Geordie friends and even to bump into a Weegie or two. (Hoots Mon Indeed!) I am still waiting for the translation! :D

Once again, a most enjoyable two days - thanks to all concerned. Great music from Shadz Band, Shazam and Past Masters, and a bonus spending time with folks over a meal on Saturday. Highlight of that was an un-named bass player taking his first sip of Pinot Grigio and remarking "Hmm, doesn't really go with toothpaste..."

I note that Mr Downie (of the Edinburgh Downies) seeks clarification of the lyrics of that well-known Scottish anthem, Hoots Mon. I have therefore attempted a translation into Mr Downie's preferred patois, Morningside English. Aware that Mr Downie does come from Edinburgh, I have tried not to use too many big words.

1. I say old chap, there is a rodent quadruped at large in these domestic premises;

2. Oh, yes!

3. I say old chap, it is indeed a beautiful, bright moonlight evening;

4. I say old chap.

I will contact Mr McCutcheon to suggest that future performances of this classic be surtitled, in the manner of operas.

Many thanks for those, most eloquent words Mr Geddes. Actually, I only speak Morningside as a second language; I am fluent, however, in my native Gorgie. Still, it is easier for you to translate from Kelvinside to Morningside.

Where was your tie on Sunday btw? At least Alan made the effort with his shirt.
